Asmara, also spelled asmera, capital city of eritrea. It has an elevation of 7627 feet (2325 meters). Asmara is an exceptional example of early modernist urbanism at the beginning of the 20th century. The architicural moernism is fully reflected in its layout and urban character. The city is well planned and converges on the palm-lined main street on which the roman cahtolic cathedral is located.
Climate-the dry season is from December to April. The rainy season is between may and september. Regarless of the time of the year the temperature never goes beyond 30 degrees celcuis in the sun. The capital is know for loverly climate with very little humidity. Between december and february it can get cold at night and early morning.
